Autumn Transitions: An Acupuncture Offering

$50 preset acupuncture treatment for addressing the emotional & spiritual transitions of fall offered October 11 - October 27, 2022.

Through the end of the month, I’ll be offering a preset treatment of eleven acupuncture points that I’ve put together to help you transition through the more emotional and spiritual aspects of fall, or the metal element in the five element transitions. During this season, or transition, we come across themes of grief and letting go. We are being asked to be able to give ourselves over or have trust in the universe’s plan for us, or to any new beginning. This treatment might resonate with you if you’ve been moving inward and working on any of the following:

  • How do I know what to hold on to and what to let go of? How do I let go?

  • Can I let go of what isn’t serving me any more to make way for something new?

  • Can I surrender myself to the universe and its plan for me? Can I surrender to transformation?

  • Can I embrace grief, let it nourish me and recognize that it will make way for a new beginning?

  • Can I accept that nothing is personal, that I am just a part of the universe and a bigger plan?

  • Am I struggling with grief and the refusal to let go?

Affirmations for this season:

  • I surrender to transformation.

  • I surrender to my powerlessness in the universe.

  • I am letting go to make way for a new beginning.

The acupuncture points:

  • Yin Tang: the third eye point, general point for centering and calming the spirit

  • Lung 9: earth on metal point; This point is nourishing, it helps us know when to let go, to recognize that letting go is an act of caring for ourselves and that there is nourishment in grief.

  • Liver 4: metal on wood point; This point helps us release the idea that “this is not fair” in the journey to surrender over to the universe’s plan. It also helps us bring presence and self worth to the impulse to grow.

  • Lung 1 & 2: These points open us up to inspiration and accepting the wisdom of loss. They help us see that grief and loss are a necessary step in transformation.

  • Liver 14: This point is called the Gate of Hope, it gives us the hope of a new beginning.

  • The combination of Lung 1 and Liver 14 help us jump into the universe’s plan. It allows our energy to flow up so we can be inspired by hope and our breath.

To me, this point combination helps us find nourishment and meaning in grief. It helps us let go, to surrender and find hope in a new beginning. This is an important transition, as when we enter winter (the water element), we’ll be planting the seed for growth and that new beginning. But first we need to let go, accept and surrender before we can begin anew.

This offering is a generalized treatment to help support any inner work that one might be doing in the previously mentioned areas. There is no standardized or guaranteed response to the treatment, each individual will get something different out of it. Unlike an acupuncture session that is tailored to your symptoms, individual needs and tongue/pulse - this is a preset treatment that is not personalized. This treatment is offered to both established and new patients alike, and does not replace a new patient visit for those wanting to continue to work together. When you come in for this treatment, we’ll get you comfortable on the massage table, insert the points and you will get the full approximately 30 minutes to rest and reset with the points. All emotions that might arise with this treatment are welcomed. This is a stand alone offering and there will be no follow up work or processing of what arises. This treatment is not meant to take the place of counseling, therapy or other emotional support. I will provide you with a printed sheet that has the previous journaling prompts, affirmations and point information for you to take home and continue to integrate in whatever way serves you. My hope is that this treatment can serve to give you the space to unblock emotions and energy so that you can go deeper into the beautiful transition that is fall.
